Our New Facility
Smith Powder Coating’s facility offers the most advanced equipment. We have some of the largest ovens in Utah County to cure even your largest gates. Our warehouse design efficiently keeps stations busy but organized. Our three step proven process is what makes our powder coat last for years to come!
Step 1: Sandblast
Sandblasting removes all impurities from the surface including old paint, rust, and oil spots. We are left with a white metal finish. Sandblasting also creates a profiled surface so the primer and powder coat can easily adhere to the metal.
Step 2: Prime
We then apply a thin coat of epoxy primer over the surface. This primer is crucial for any outdoor products. We then place the gates in a 400 degree oven to cure. This allows the primer to bond deep into the metal surface.
Step 3: Powder Coat
After we set the primer, we can now apply the powder coat. This can be done in any color or shade you desire. you can view our current color options here. We again cure the gates in a 400 degree oven.
