Our Three Step Powder Coating Process
Step 1:
First, we sandblast your metal home decor into a white metal finish. Sandblasting removes any impurities from the metal, this includes old paint, dirt, and rust. This process creates a micro ridged surface, which helps the primer and powder coat bond deep into the surface.
Step 2:
We then prime the metal with a thin epoxy coating over the entire surface. Next, we place the decor in a 400 degree oven. This allows the primer to bond deep into the metals surface. Primer helps the product last in all conditions.
Step 3:
Finally, a polyester powder coat is applied. This can be accomplished in a wide variety of colors we have at Smith Powder Coating. We again place the product in a 400 degree oven. Once the decor is cooled, the metal has a strong smooth coating that will last for years to come.
