Powder Coated Picnic Tables Process

Below is the step-by-step process of how the picnic table tops, seats, and legs are powder coated. Our team works diligently to provide quick turn around times on all orders.

Powder Coated Table Top & Seats

The picnic table top and seats are constructed from aluminum. This requires only sandblast and powder coat. Aluminum is sandblasted to a white finish that helps create a profile. This allows the powder to better stick to the aluminum, similar to sandpaper.

TGIC Polyester powder coat is then applied to the top and seats and then baked. Once cooled, the aluminum will be smooth and resistant to chips, scratches, and scuffs.

Powder Coated Table Legs

Similar to the top and seats process, the table legs are also sandblasted and powder coated. However, steel table legs are also primed. After the table legs have been sandblasted, an epoxy primer is added. This prepares the metal to be powder coated and adds an extra layer of protection from outdoor exposure.

Primer is the number one way to protect against rust and corrosion.

Benefits Of Powder Coated Picnic Tables

Why powder coat your aluminum picnic tables? Here are a few benefits from powder coating.

Nature-Friendly Process

At Smith Powder Coating, we are committed to providing a nature-friendly process. The powder coat does not contain VOC’s which can harm the environment. Any overspray is collected and is used on future projects.

Durable Coating

Powder coat makes the picnic table smooth to the touch and resistant to chips and corrosions. This prevents corrosion from building up, which could cause rust and corrosion. Lastly, powder coat does not peel, chip, or flake.

Color Options

We offer a variety of color options for the powder coated picnic tables. Satin Black a popular option for the table legs. Weather Green, RAL 1019, Statuary Bronze, and Cobalt Blue are a few popular colors for table tops.
